Dead as a doornail by Charlaine Harris

This is the fifth book in the Sookie Stackhouse series and to me the best one yet. When it comes to good books that keep you reading tell you can't put them down then, this one fits the bill.
Sam Merlotte was shot and he wasn't he only one. The shiftshaper in Hotshot was also shot and one other person was killed that Sookie knew of. Now she needed a big favor and the only person to go to for that favor was Erik. If only what had happened between her and him didn't happen but, there's isn't much she can to do change it. He wants to know what really happened between them but Sookie isn't willing to tell him yet. He may not believe her.
Charles Twining was the new bartender at Fangtasia. Erik said that he could spare him. So, he gathered  his stuff and came back with Sookie to Bon Temp.
Calvin is the head of the shifters. But, right now he's laying in a bed recovering from getting shot. Plus, He likes Sookie a lot. Sookie had decided to try and find out what really is going on and why all the shootings.
Then one night her house is on fire. Someone was trying to kill her. Things in the supernatural world are coming for Sookie and she knows that deep down she wishes she never got involed in the first place.
Alcide is a were and has been attracted to Sookie for awhile now. His pack are going to choose a new leader. He wants her to come and witness it.
With all this going on, you'll just have to read the book to find out what happens. Sookie being pulled in to many directions for her own good. Not knowing who to choose, if she was to choose.
Well, I'm off to start my next book. I strongly recommend this book to those that like a good story, vampires and the supernatural. Remember a good book isn't to far away. Read one.
